Privacy Policy

Last updated · July 9, 2026

Focus is built to help you focus, not to harvest your attention. This page explains exactly what we collect, why, and how to control or delete it. No ads, no data selling, no third-party trackers.

01

Information we collect

Account information. When you sign in with Google or LinkedIn, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from that provider. We use this only to create and identify your account.

Journal and session data. Your goals, focus-cycle settings, timer state, and daily journal entries (morning intentions, evening reflections, streaks) are currently stored locally in your browser, not on our servers. If you clear your browser data or switch devices, this local data doesn't carry over.

Presence data. If "share anonymously" is on in your session settings, your active focus session may contribute to anonymous, aggregate indicators — like a live count of people currently focusing — without revealing your name or identity. Co-focus and community features are still evolving; we'll update this section as they become more social.

02

How we use it

  • To let you sign in and keep your account secure
  • To operate the features you use — the timer, journal, and co-focus presence
  • To communicate with you about your account, if you contact us or opt into reminders

We don't use your data for advertising, and we don't sell it to anyone.

03

Who we share it with

We don't share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We use a small number of service providers to run Focus — a database host to store your account, and Google/LinkedIn for sign-in. These providers only process data on our behalf and under their own privacy commitments.

04

Data retention

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. Locally stored journal and session data stays on your device until you clear it or request deletion below.

05

Your rights & account deletion

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your account information at any time. To request account deletion, email us at privacy@foc-us.com (with subject "Account deletion request") from the email address associated with your account. We'll confirm and complete the deletion within a reasonable time.

06

Children's privacy

Focus isn't directed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

07

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll update the "last updated" date above. We encourage you to review this page from time to time.
